What Is an Apostille?
An Apostille is a square-shaped sticker or stamp applied to the back of your document by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India. It certifies that the document is genuine and has been verified by the Indian government. Once Apostilled, the document is recognized in all member countries of the Hague Convention of 1961 โ without any further embassy attestation.
India joined the Hague Convention in 2005, making the MEA Apostille the standard for document authentication for Hague member countries.
