Commercial Document Attestation Process in Maharashtra
Notary Attestation
The commercial document is first attested by a registered Notary Public who verifies it and applies their official seal and signature.
Chamber of Commerce Attestation
The document is verified and stamped by a recognised Chamber of Commerce, such as MACCIA, confirming the issuing company's registration.
MEA Attestation / Apostille
The Ministry of External Affairs applies an MEA stamp (for embassy attestation) or an Apostille sticker (for Hague Convention countries).
Embassy Attestation
For non-Hague countries, the document is attested by the destination country's embassy or consulate in India.
MOFA Attestation (if required)
Some destination countries, such as the UAE, require a further MOFA attestation once the document arrives in-country.
