PCC Application
The PCC is first obtained from the Regional Passport Office or local police station, based on the applicant's passport and residence history.
Notary Attestation
The PCC is notarised by a registered Notary Public before it enters the attestation chain.
MEA Attestation / Apostille
The Ministry of External Affairs applies an MEA stamp (for embassy attestation) or an Apostille sticker (for Hague Convention countries).
Embassy Attestation
For non-Hague countries, the PCC is attested by the destination country's embassy or consulate in India.
MOFA Attestation (if required)
Some destination countries, such as the UAE, require a further MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) attestation once the document arrives in-country.
